Chapter European Council Charles Michel at the G20 summit, which was held in a videoconference format, invited the leaders of the countries to create an international agreement on pandemics, reports TASS .

According to him, the document can help prevent pandemics in the future, as well as facilitate a faster and more coordinated response. “[The Treaty] must be negotiated with all nations, with UN agencies, in particular with WHO “, said the head of the European Council.

Michel added that WHO’s role should be key in coordinating action in the event of a pandemic, and the global compact will complement these efforts.

Earlier, the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping during his speech at the G20 summit suggested to create a unified international mechanism for “health codes” based on data from coronavirus tests. The Chinese leader explained that the mechanism will be based on the results of nucleic acid tests in the form of internationally mutually recognized QR codes.
