US: told about kidnapping of Kim Jong-un’s nephew by CIA

The Central Intelligence Agency ( CIA ) The US kidnapped the family of the late half-brother of the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un after he was killed in Malaysia in 2017. This is reported in an article by The New Yorker.

The author of the publication, Korean writer Sukhi Kim said that the family of the late Kim Jong Nam – his wife, daughter and son – after the murder of the head of the family contacted the Chollima Civil Defense group helping the defectors (later renamed into Free Joseon – approx . “Lenta.ru” ), and asked for help. The activists managed to develop a plan to provide asylum to the relatives of the DPRK leader, but the CIA intervened in the situation. The writer clarified that the details of what happened to her were told by one of the leaders of the group, Adrian Hong Chan.

According to him, having received a request for help from the nephew of the head of the DPRK, Kim Han Sol, he sent one of the members of the organization to the Taiwanese airport, where he met with the young man and his family. After meeting, they were accommodated in two rooms located in the waiting room, and Hong Chan began to negotiate with different countries, deciding on the issue of asylum. In the end, it was decided that the family would go to the Netherlands, but the first flight did not work out: the airport staff refused to let the Koreans on board, and Hong Chan assumed that the airport staff were aware of what was happening.

While activists were trying to resolve issues with tickets and the airport administration, the family continued to wait in the waiting room. At some point, two men arrived who introduced themselves as CIA officers. One of the strangers promised to accompany the family on the flight. However, the family never showed up at the Dutch airport Schiphol.

Writer Sukhi Kim noted that several sources in an interview with her confirmed that the CIA “intercepted” Kim Han Sol and his family. The whereabouts of the Korean family are currently unknown.

Kim Jong Nam is Kim Jong-un’s paternal brother, has not been to the DPRK since 2001. He was killed on February 13, 2017 at the Kuala Lumpur airport. From the capital of Malaysia, he was going to fly to Macau to his family.

The personality of the aforementioned Andrian Hong Chan has already attracted the attention of journalists in the past. In particular, his name appeared in the process of establishing the circumstances of the attack on the DPRK embassy in Spain in February 2017.

It was reported that the Chollima Civil Defense faction claimed responsibility for the incident. There was information that the nephew of the leader of North Korea might be involved in its activities. At the same time, the Spanish authorities did not exclude the CIA’s involvement in the attack.
