Opponents of the incumbent President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko created a new Coordination Council. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the writer, Nobel Prize laureate in literature Svetlana Aleksievich.
According to her, the names of the members of the new opposition structure will be kept secret.
Earlier it became known that several created structures were not enough for opponents the current government. The opposition has announced a plan to create an alternative government that will issue relevant documents for citizens of Belarus abroad.
October 28 it was reported about the creation of the People’s Anti-Crisis Administration (NAU), designed to solve the problems facing the country in the event of Lukashenka’s departure. Its head Pavel Latushko explained that the goal of the organization is to achieve stability in the country at the moment transfer of power to democratic forces.
October 16 Investigative Committee Belarus reported that the investigation of a criminal case on the activities of the Opposition Coordinating Council (CC), created in August, continues. Investigators received evidence that the members of the Constitutional Court committed actions aimed “at destabilizing the socio-political, economic and informational situation” and causing harm to the national security of Belarus.
All members of the Constitutional Court Presidium are currently either arrested or are abroad, in particular, the former presidential candidate of Belarus Svetlana Tikhanovskaya ended up in Lithuania.
