Dachshund in the American area of Evergreen, Colorado, rescued his friend – a half-breed Chihuahua – from a cougar who attacked him, reports Click on Detroit.
On November 7, a dachshund named Winston and a Chihuahua named Millau were walking in the courtyard in front of the owners’ house. Millau was suddenly attacked by a young cougar.
Winston rushed to the aid of his friend and drove the predator away with a furious bark. The cougar abandoned potential prey and disappeared.
After the incident, the Chihuahua was taken to the vet. The dog lost its right eye and possibly suffered a head injury, but survived thanks to Winston’s help.
“He is a nine-kilogram dog, and his courage is like a 90-kilogram one,” the owner of the dachshund proudly declared.
GoFundMe has created a fundraising page for Millau’s veterinary bills.
Previously it was reported that the search and rescue dog helped rescue the cat from under the rubble of a house after the earthquake in the Turkish province of Izmir. The animal got stuck under two collapsed floors of a building and spent about 30 hours there since the earthquake.
