Over 200 fishermen contract mysterious disease in Africa

In Senegal, more than 200 fishermen have contracted a mysterious disease that they caught in the Atlantic Ocean, reports the newspaper Sud Quotidien.

It is noted that patients become covered with scabs, itch strongly and complain of swollen lips and irritation of the eyes. The authorities of the African country have imposed a temporary ban on fishing in the contaminated area near the suburb of Dakar. Water samples will be taken there for analysis. It is known that zirconium is mined not far from the specified place, and there are chemical plants on the coast, from where a leak into the ocean could occur.

Earlier in November, it was reported that an unknown disease in Delta State in the south Nigeria has claimed the lives of at least 15 young people. It is known that the victims were between 18 and 25 years old. The state authorities have assured that they are already doing their best to slow the spread of the disease.
