Police custody of Youtuber Norman Thavaud extended

The police custody of Norman Thavaud was extended Tuesday, December 6, announced the Paris prosecutor’s office to the France-Presse agency (AFP). The YouTube star with 12 million subscribers was placed in police custody on Monday for “rape and corruption of minors”, as part of a preliminary investigation entrusted to the miners’ protection brigade (BPM), open in January 2022.

Six young women filed a complaint against the animator of the “Norman makes videos”. According to the newspaper Liberation , five of them would accuse Norman Thavaud of rape, and two were minor at the time of the facts. p>

In 2020, a Quebec fan, Maggie D., had publicly accused the Youtubeur of having manipulated him to obtain photos and videos of a sexual nature, when she was 16 years old at that time. She said she had filed a complaint in Canada. As part of a Franco-Québec survey published by the Urbania media in April 2021, other women had made comparable charges against Mr. Thavaud for facts that would have occurred while some were still minor.
