Gérald Darmanin prevented the arrival in France of a Salafist Yemeni preacher who was to participate for three days in conferences in the Great Mosque of Chilly-Mazarin (Essonne), announced, on Wednesday, December 7, the ministry of The interior.
The arrival of Yémenite Salafiste Al-Mohammedi cheikh in Chilly-Mazarin, Friday, Saturday and Sunday was part of a European tour which led him to Rotterdam (Netherlands), in Cologne (Germany ) and in Molenbeeck (Belgium) where he gave a conference on Wednesday evening, said the ministry.
The Minister of the Interior pronounced an administrative prohibition of territory (IAT) to prevent his arrival.
To explain this decision, the ministry has emphasized the “words loaned to this Salafist preacher, or at least the hadiths [collection of acts and words of Muhammad and his companions] which he uses at the support of his interventions “. According to the Ministry of the Interior, Jews and Christians are “qualified as corrupters” by the preacher.
“The source of all evil comes from women”
About women, this preacher “quotes hadiths stipulating that a man must close his eyes when he meets a woman, and that the source of all evil comes from women”, also specifies the ministry. The preacher also quotes hadiths recommending “corporal punishments for those who do not respect religious precepts for thieves”.
Also according to the Ministry of the Interior, Al-Mohammedi also calls “Muslims to leave non-Muslim countries to be able to respect the precepts of their religion” and “to share nothing with non-Muslims”.
Beauvau argued that these remarks “held in 2020” were clear “clearly to an encouragement to separatism and community withdrawal”.
The ministry also specified to the agency France-Presse that the town hall of Chilly-Mazarin “should in the coming hours prohibit the conference”.
