Green Linux 21 came out – Antisancation OS for Russian market

December 1, the community of independent developers issued Green Linux 21. The operating system created on the basis of Linux Mint is specially localized under the Russian market, taking into account current conditions.

Linux Mint is considered one of the easiest to use Linux distributions. In this regard, it can be compared with Windows 7 – one of the simplest in the development of Microsoft OS

“In connection with the latest events and a constantly hanging threat of imposing new sanctions on our country. The Linux Mint community decided to make its distribution, which will be adapted precisely under the Russian user and completely not depend on external factors,” reported on the project website.

The distribution is distributed free of charge, “weighs” within 2.2 GB and is supplied exclusively in a 64-bit version. One of the features of Green Linux is that the system is integrated into the system of the Minzifra Certificate.

Developers Explained that in the current turbulent time there is a possibility of recalling the latest available commercial SSL-certificate from Globalsing, which will lead to the impossibility of using online banks and any other sites that use these certificates.

In this regard, the developers decided to release the assembly of Linux Mint which will be guaranteed to work with any possible sanctions, and users will have access to any resources, including which use the Certificate from the Ministry of Cyphra.

Currently, Green Linux is very much tied to Linux Mint, especially in terms of obtaining updates. The developers intend to eliminate this drawback and launch their updates system, independent of third -party projects. The developers have not yet voiced specific terms.

In addition, over the next few months, it is planned to carry out a full rebranding of the distribution and implement your own update system, which allows you to release updates regardless of Linux Mint.
