American Ministry of Justice Filed to two Citizens of the United States accusations of promoting Russian hackers when hacking a taxi of John Kennedy International Airport in New York.
According to the agency, 48-year-old residents of New York Daniel Abaev and Peter Leiman were accused.
The Ministry of Justice reported that “for many years, the hacker attacks of the accused have not allowed honest taxis drivers to pay for travel at Kennedy Airport in the order in which they arrived. Thanks to the joint work of the Ministry of Justice and the Airport administration, serious criminal charges were charged with this accused for their alleged cybercrime. “
According to the prosecutor’s office, the Americans “in conspiracy with Russian citizens” hacked the electronic dispatch system of a taxi service at the John Kennedy airport. This allegedly allowed them to withdraw certain taxis at the beginning of the queue in exchange for a fee.
As specified in the department, cyber attacks were committed in the period from 2019 to 2020. The police arrested the accused in Queens. Now two men, if they are found guilty, are threatened, up to 10 years in prison.
