Yesterday morning, British Airways flights were suspended due to problems with the flight planning, because of which the planes were lingering on the runway.
Night flights were delayed for several hours due to technical problems with the flight planning system. Currently, the problem has been resolved, but it has led to regular flight delays, for which the airline apologized to the clients.
The problem was related to the software, which the British Airways pilots turn through Apple iPad. At the moment, the system is in the update process. According to data Flightradar24, of all regular flights in the sky were only about 50%.
Passengers expected several hours at the airports, and some planes stood on the runway before they were returned to the airport terminal. The captain of one of the aircraft reported that “on-board computers did not work about 2 hours around the world, and not a single British Airways aircraft could present a flight plan.
