Cybercriminals “soldered” network of Australian Fire Service

Australia Fire and Rescue Service in Victoria (FRV) turned off its network and works in offline mode after she was subjected to cyberataka. The incident became known from messages services published on Friday.

The hacker attack caused serious interruptions in the work of corporate e -mail, telephone network and emergency dispatch systems Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) that help firefighters – for example, open the doors of the stations as soon as firefighters receive an emergency call.

Because of the incident, firefighters Victoria are forced to use radio, pager and mobile phones to respond to challenges. According to experts, work in this mode can last up to four days, while an investigation of the incident is being conducted.

Interruptions in the work of the fire service network were first discovered on Thursday, but initially they were not connected with cyberataka. Now FRV is working around the clock with IBs and the government to restore their systems and find out the cause of the incident.
