The call to strike by liberal doctors occurs at a delicate moment. The doctors collective for tomorrow called on liberal doctors to go on strike between Christmas and New Year’s Day, with the support of several unions (UFML, FMF, SML, young doctors). The central claim of the collective remains the doubling of the basic consultation rate of 25 to 50 euros, as well as an improvement in working conditions.
The chief emergency of Mulhouse and the association Samu-Urgences de France, Marc Noizet, deplored, Tuesday, December 27, the call to the strike of liberal doctors during the holidays, already sentenced by the Minister of the Health, François Braun. “This strike arrives at the worst moments,” he said on France Bleu Alsace.
Referring to the “epidemic pic of flu”, to which are added bronchiolitis and covid-19 epidemics, Marc Noizet added:
“For fifteen days, we have observed an excessively significant increase, which I would qualify almost vertiginous, activity in the centers [of the Samu]. We are at the limit of rupture of what we are able to do With the means available at this end of year period. “
a demonstration scheduled for January 5
François Braun “firmly” condemned this call to strike, in a statement sent by his ministry on Monday to the press:
“While our health system faces an exceptional situation, taking into account in particular the triple epidemic which continues everywhere in France, that makes an increase in increased pressure on hospitals and emergency services which are already in a situation criticism. “
He praised the decision of the main unions (MG France, CSMF, Future SPE) which “did not call for strike” and encouraged to “prevail this spirit of responsibility”. François Braun will do Tuesday “at the end of the day” a point with regional health agencies, CHUs and hospital federations on the situation of hospitals.
The doctors collective for tomorrow, created at the end of summer, provides for a national demonstration in Paris for January 5.
