Corsair perceived many users as a certificate of the presence of a built -in keys, which preserves the customer sequence introduced by the user. The essence of the problem is that users of this keyboard model faced a situation when, in unpredictable time, the keyboard repeatedly issued a sequence once previously introduced by the user. At the same time, sometimes the text was repeatedly automatically typed a few days later.
Initially, it was assumed that the problem was caused by the presence of malicious software on user systems, but later it was shown that the effect is specific for the owners of the Corsair K100 keyboard and is manifested in the environment created for analysis. When it became obvious that the problem of the hardware of Corsair sorted out this effect and found out that it was caused by not hidden collection of data on user entry and not built -in Keilger, but an error in the implementation of the standard function macros present in the firmware. In particular, at arbitrary moments, the recording of macros was assigned, which after some time were reproduced. What exactly initiated the recording and reproduction of macros is not yet clear, since the analysis of the problem has not yet been completely completed.
