The soap opera had lasted for several weeks between Paris and Brussels. France wanted to recover this 58 -year -old Moroccan preacher “Fiche s”, to expel him to Morocco. But Belgian justice had refused in October to give the imam to the French authorities.

Arrested on September 30 near the city of Mons, where he had taken refuge after having fled, according to him, France on August 25, the Imam had introduced an appeal against a European arrest warrant issued by Paris. The Tournai summons court, then the Mons Court of Appeal, proved him right. And in early November, he left Tournai prison to be under house arrest, under electronic surveillance.
