It was a promise made at the start of the 2022 school year by Sylvie Retailleau, Minister of Higher Education: the creation of a single platform to allow students to apply for access in 1 re Year of national master’s degree. This “Parcoursup” at the end of the undergraduate, online at the address “Monmaster.gouv.fr”, aims to fluidify the procedures as well as the process of student recruitment.

The selection of students expected on “my master” will be in 5 steps.

The 1 er February, date of the opening of the platform, students will be able to consult the various offers from universities. According to the ministry, 185,000 seats in 1 re year of master were offered in 2022, for 165,000 license graduates in 2021.

From March 22 to April 18, 2023, this is the submission of applications. It will no longer be necessary to recreate a new file with each request and juggle the differentiated agendas from each faculty. “The platform will simplify the candidates of students, as their examination by training, according to the principle of” tell us once “”, indicates the ministry.

From April 24 to June 16, 2023, it will be the establishments to examine the applications. “The establishments remain responsible for the admissions of candidates”, underlines the ministry, which thought of the new platform not as a selection tool, but as a facilitator of connecting between students and establishments throughout the territory.

“The process of examining the files by the training will be based, as today, on the assessment of the project of the candidates, their motivation, their journey and the reports of notes.”

From June 23 to July 21, the first candidates will receive admission proposals and will be able to respond favorably, thus releasing places in other courses to which they applied. These places will then be assigned to students on the waiting list, as is the case on Parcoursup. The ministry considers that “Monmaster” guarantees “optimization of the calendar of places” and will allow “to reduce the stress of candidates” before summer holidays. Examination of applications may nevertheless continue until September.

Until September 30, admitted candidates who accept a proposal may register administratively in their establishment, according to the calendar established by each of them.

What about candidates without proposals? With this new system, the ministry hopes to reduce the number of left-handed by providing a “national vision of the offer”. Clearly, if the student does not find a master’s degree in his academy, he will be invited to study where places remain free. If they have not finally received any proposal, candidates with a license diploma are invited to seize the rector to assert their “right to pursuit of studies”.
