Norton password manager systems hacked

On December 12, Norton Lifelock invasion systems discovered unusual activity in the system. Investigation of the company showed that Hacker tried to access a large number of Norton Lifelock customer accounts.

According to Norton, an unauthorized cybercriminal gained access to the following information:

  • Name and surname;
  • phone number;
  • user postal address;
  • logins and passwords stored in the Norton vault (Lifelock is supplied with the Norton password dispatcher ).

As soon as the company became aware of the mass attempts to enter the system, she “quickly dropped all the passwords of users.” Norton said her systems were not compromised during the attack. The company urged customers to change all the passwords for accounts stored in the password dispatter and include multifactorial authentication in their Norton accounts. Norton Lifelock offered all its customers free monitoring. Law enforcement agencies are also involved in the investigation.
