Julia Simon is due to her yellow tunic of leader in the Biathlon World Cup classification. Second of the Pokljuka sprint in Slovenia, Friday, January 6, the Frenchwoman signed a new podium on Saturday – her seventh this season – by winning third place in the prosecution. A result which allows him to keep 31 points ahead of the general on the Swedish Elvira Oeberg (a victory is worth 90 points), winner of the prosecution after having already lifted the arms the day before. Italian Dorothea Wierer took second place in the pursuit.

In difficulty on skis during a good part of the race, and less precise at the start of the season against the targets (18/20), Julia Simon did not seem able to fight with the best during the last game of the race. But, thanks to a last perfect standing shot, and errors of its competitors, the native of Albertville (Savoie) came out of the pitch in third place before starting the last round of the circuit. She then managed to hold her position until the end, despite the returns of the Slovak Paulina Fialkova and the Czech Marketa Davidova. Julia Simon finally managed to keep ten seconds ahead of her two pursuers.

The French achieved a good overall performance on Saturday under the Pokljuka sun. Far behind Elvira Oeberg, leading from start to finish at the end of the race, three other tricolors rank among the first fifteen of this pursuit. Sophie Chauveau finished 11 e
