Supports of the former far -right president, opposed to the return to power of Lula, forced Sunday the security perimeter placed around the political institution.
A week after the inauguration of President Lula, opponents always intend to disrupt his return to power. Hundreds of supporters of his far -right predecessor, Jair Bolsonaro, invaded the outside of the Congress on Sunday, January 8, in Brasilia.
The area around the institution had been completed by the authorities, but the Bolsonarists who refuse to accept the election of Lula managed to break the safety cords, despite the appeal by the police to tear gas bombs for Try to repel them outside the perimeter of the site. Several dozen of them managed to climb on the ramp of this building with modern architecture to occupy the roof.
The impressive images, recalling the assault of the Capitol in the United States on January 6, 2021, show a real human tide flow to Congress. This one brings together in the same building the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate.
Protesters appeared on the roof, but also on all adjoining lawns, including that of the Planalto presidential palace. Jair Bolsonaro, who was beaten by a short head by Lula in the second round of the presidential election on October 30, left Brazil at the end of the year to join the United States.
