RATP and unions agree to increase working time of bus drivers

The Régie hopes to “find a quality service as quickly as possible” when a quarter of the buses has not been riding since September due to recruitment difficulties

The RATP announced Friday, January 6, having signed an agreement with the FO and UNSA unions, the majority of them, providing for “an increase in working time of the drivers of a hundred and twenty hours on average by year”.

In return, bus and tram drivers will see their wages increase by 372 euros gross per month. With this agreement, the RATP hopes to “find a quality service as quickly as possible” when a quarter of the buses has not been riding since September due to recruitment difficulties, an increase in absenteeism and sporadic strikes.

The agreement is a temporary emergency measure, since all the bus lines in Paris and the small crown will be opened to competition, in accordance with a 2007 European regulation. Companies that will win calls for Offers will resume employees and will also take care of the exploitation of deposits. The rocking must be done on the night of December 31, 2024 at 1 er January 2025.
