Kurds pay tribute to dead of shooting in Paris

Many Kurds refuse to believe in the version of an isolated shooter with racist motivations and denounce a “terrorist” act, questioning Turkey.

Thousands of members of the Kurdish community are expected on Tuesday, January 3, in Villiers-le-Bel (Val-d’Oise) for the funeral of Abdurrahman Kizil, Mir Perwer, a Kurdish Political Refugee singer, and Emine Kara, head of the Kurdish Women Movement in France.

They were assassinated by shot on December 23 in front of the Ahmet-Kaya cultural center in rue d’Enghien (10 e arrondissement). The shooter, William M., was disarmed and arrested in stride.

Before the investigators, the 69 -year -old man, already known to justice for violence and who just emerged from pre -trial detention for another case, expressed a “hatred of pathological foreigners” and said that he wanted to “murder migrants”, according to the Paris prosecutor’s office.

The community will be collected in the afternoon in Villiers-le-Bel in front of the remains of Abdurrahman Kizil, Mir Perwer and Emine Kara. “This ceremony will be an opportunity for those who wish to pay a final tribute (…) before the bodies of the deceased are repatriated to their native land” for their burial, explains the Kurdish Kurdish Democratic Council on its website (Cdkf).
