published the project Rigs of Rods 2022.12 , developing a realistic simulator of cars, ships, aircraft, helicopters, trains and other modes of transport. The project involves the graphic engine ogre and its own physical engine using the physics of soft bodies to simulate movement, damage and deformation of vehicles. The code is written in C ++ and is distributed under the license gPLV3.
The simulator began its development as a research project of Pierra Michel-Rinordea in the physics of soft bodies. After the project attracted the attention of the community for the simulator, thousands of different cards and vehicles were created. The user is provided with a environment with complete freedom of action and the possibility of using different maps and types of transport with a realistic model of movement and damage, up to the simulation of complete destruction.
Among changes in the new version:
- Added the possibility of procedural creation and editing roads using Angelscript.
- Added AI engine for autonomous control of vehicles.
- implemented by AI scripts of the Dreg Ricing and Emergency Driving modes.
- Conducted to implement relief editing.
- Added setting to switch rendering modes.
- For Linux added keyboard layout for Xbox 360 Wireless.
- Added interface for debugging collision.
- Implementation of the map of the mouse wheel is implemented.
