MILTON was built in cooperation between the University Hospital Milton Caines and the London Academy of Robotics, a company engaged in artificial intelligence. A penguin -like robot can deliver medicines and medical instruments throughout the hospital, accelerating transportation and reducing staff load.
According to Mkuh, the first test began in November 2022 and will continue in 2023. As part of the test, the robot will learn to safely move between the hospital pharmacy and individual stationary departments. Milton covers some of the longest hospital routes.
medicines and all the necessary items for delivery are placed in the department in the front of the robot. The design and name of the robot were chosen by the hospital staff during the internal vote.
Milton works on the software of the KAR-Go-go electric car, developed by the Robotics Academy. The company’s engineers used several systems used in Kar -Go to help Milton navigate in the space where he learned to bypass obstacles – people, wheelchairs and beds.
