After the year of development formed project release siduction 2022.1 , developing the desktop-oriented Linux distribution, built on the DEBIAN SID (Unstable) package base. Siduction is the fork aptosid , which was separated in July 2011. The key difference from Aptosid was to use as a user environment a newer version of KDE from the experimental repository QT-KDE. To download offered assemblies based on KDE (3.1 GB), XFCE (3 GB) and LXQT (1.8 GB) as well as the minimalistic assembly “NOX” (1 GB), supplied without a graphic environment and intended for users who want to arrange their system themselves. Separately gather unofficial assemblies with GNOME, CINMON and Mate.
The main changes:
- The package base is synchronized with the Debian Unstable repository. Updated versions of the Linux 6.1 nucleus. Of the desktop, KDE Plasma 5.26.4, XFCE 4.18 and LXQT 1.2.0 are offered.
- The CHROOT-SheLPER utility includes, which can be used to simplify the change of root catalog when loading in a Live mode, for example, when it is required to solve some problems in the distribution of the disk.
- Added a new package management interface Nala , which is an superstructure over APT, in addition to APT commands providing some additional Opportunities such as loading in several flows, a more visible presentation of packages information and the ability to work with the history of operations.
- Snapper tools have been added, which allows in configuration with the BTRFS file system to create Snapshots of the FS and, if necessary, return the system to the past state. By default, snapshots are automatically created before each operation with APT, which allows you to roll back in case of problems with packet updating.
