Second in group B

Canada returns from far away since it was eliminated in March during the qualifications, by the Netherlands. The exclusion of Russia, title holder, due to the conflict in Ukraine, however left a place: Serbia should have benefited, but since it had already received an invitation for the 2022 final phase, it is Canada which has been drafted.

The Canadians, who had been beaten by Spain in the final in 2019 for the first edition of the new formula in national team competition, therefore succeed the list of Russia.

Canada finished second in group B behind Spain in September, before eliminating Germany in the quarterfinals (2-1) and Italy in half (2-1).
