New Windows Server updates cause domain controller failures

The latest updates of Windows Server KB5019966 issued in the November Tuesday of corrections, cause memory leaks of LSASS, which can lead to freezing and restarting the domain controller.

LSASS – server for checking the authenticity of the local security system, which is responsible for the use of security policies in Windows and access control, password changes and the input of users into the system. If LSASS gives a failure that users lose access to their Windows accounts on the computer and receive a message error message, followed by the system restart.

Microsoft explains that LSASS can use more memory over time, and the domain controller may stop responding to requests and restart. Depending on the working load of the domain controllers and the time that has passed since the last reinforcement of the server, LSASS can constantly increase the use of memory depending on the time of non -proceeding the server, and the server may stop responding or automatically restart.
