The All -Indian Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi or All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi (AIIMS), experiences malfunctions after cyber attacks. Doctors and hundreds of patients who cannot get first aid, statements and account services suffer from failures, as well as make an appointment.
founded in 1956, AIIMS accepts thousands of students and graduate students of the medical faculty. It is also one of the largest state hospitals, designed for more than 2200 beds.
According to the hospital administration, during the cyber attack on the institute, extortion software was used, since the attackers changed the extensions of the affected files.
Now AIIMS is operating manually, all notes are conducted by hand, since the server recording the data of the patients has stopped working. In addition, malfunctions in the work led to long queues and errors when processing emergency cases.
“We cannot send blood tests, request visualization and view previous reports or photographs. Now such operations are performed manually that it takes much more time and is accompanied by errors,” – such a statement made one of the hospital doctors in an interview for Editions techcrunch.
AIIMS systems are still not restored. Now experts are actively working on the restoration of data from reserve copies while law enforcement agencies are investigating the incident and trying to find those who are at the attack. The institute has not yet reported whether the attackers were able to access the data of patients.
