Claude Guéant sentenced to six months in prison fitted for campaign expenses

The Nanterre court sentenced the former Minister Claude Guéant on Tuesday, November 22 to eighteen months’ imprisonment, twelve of whom had a probationary stay, after a trial where Mr. Guéant was tried to Frames for its 2012 legislative campaign.

For the firm part of his imprisonment sentence, lasting six months, the court pronounced a penalty of sentence, requesting home detention under electronic surveillance. Mr. Guéant, who was absent during the deliberation, was also sentenced to a fine of 30,000 euros. His lawyer, Me Philippe Bouchez El Ghozi, announced to appeal.
