International Bureau of Measures and Libra (BIPM) stated that additional leap seconds will cease to exist.
The leap seconds are sometimes added to the timing of the timing in order to compensate for the changes in the angular rotation of the Earth and the standard of time measurement UT1. In addition to UT1, time is also measured according to the standard of universal coordinated time (UTC) created by BIPM. Adding leap seconds for compliance with UT1 sometimes intersects with UTC, which also confuses observers for time.

BIPM indicated the deadline to present the maximum value of the difference – 2035. In addition, at the 28th General Conference on Measures and Libra in 2026, BIPM will vote for the implementation of a new standard.
