Israel: double explosion made one dead and fifteen wounded in Jerusalem

“Different explosive charges have been placed in two places. We suspect that it is a coordinated attack,” the Israeli police said in a statement. Two bombs left at least one dead and fifteen injured on Wednesday, November 23 in the morning, at Jerusalem bus stops, announces Israeli officials.

The first explosion, which occurred at a bus stop located at the exit of Jerusalem, made 12 injured, four of whom are in serious condition, and the second, which damaged a coach, made it three, depending on the emergency services. According to Israeli police, which speaks of “coordinated attacks”, one of the victims subsequently succumbed to his injuries.

“We were in the offices of the Magen David Adom (MDA) [Red Star of David, Israeli equivalent of the Red Cross], at the entrance to the city, when we heard a strong explosion. Without claiming them, the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, in power in the Gaza Strip, “praised” these acts, which according to him, “the price of crimes and attacks” of Israel against the Palestinian people .

Dimater Tzantchev, European Union ambassador to Israel, said he was “horrified by terrorist attacks”. “I express my most sincere condolences to the families of the victims (…). Terrorism is never justified,” he wrote in a press release.

After a series of deadly attacks, in March and April, the Israeli army led more than 2,000 raids in the West Bank. With the clashes they have caused, these operations cost the lives of at least 125 Palestinians, an unprecedented assessment for seven years, according to the United Nations (UN).

A little earlier Wednesday, the Israeli army had announced that the remains of an 18 -year -old Israeli civilian, who died on Tuesday in a “serious road accident” in the West Bank, had been “removed” at the Jénine hospital in northern West Bank, where her death had been pronounced. No claim has been made, but according to local sources, the body is in the hands of Palestinian fighters from a nearby refugee camp.
