Russia: an analogue of Starlink system will appear

The private Russian company SR Space plans to launch the SR Net satellite in 2024 on the Rocket of the Soyuz family. The presentation of the apparatus was held at the Aeronet-2035 exhibition, which takes place from November 17 to 27 in the VDNH Pavilion “Cosmos” in Moscow.

According to Oleg Mansurov, CEO of the company, SR Net will become an analogue of the American Starlink. Satellites will provide broadband Internet access. Over time, the number of satellites in the group will provide an Internet connection at high speed around the world. 96 devices will be in eight different planes.

The first launch of the SR NET spacecraft is planned in 2024. Flight tests in the orbit of the SR NET demonstrator will last within three to six months, after which a decision will be made on the configuration and technical characteristics of the orbital group.

Users of the new space system of high -speed broadband Internet should be primarily communication operators, providers and other organizations providing the Internet of things.
