The union union of magistrates (USM) has the meaning of the Litote. For his congress organized in Aix-en-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhône) from November 18 to 20, the title chosen is “to believe it again!”. But, with regard to the general tone and the discontent which crosses its ranks against Eric Dupond-Moretti, the event should have been baptized “to believe in despite everything …” Perhaps it was too fatalistic. Because the USM, the main union of the profession and which aims to be apolitical, does not intend to disarm in front of its best enemy, the Keeper of the Seals. Its president for four years (two mandates), Céline Parisot, passes her hand this weekend to her secretary general, Ludovic Friat, who was the sole candidate for the post. No change of line planned, Mr. Friat is a continuation of M me Parisot, especially in his opposition resolved to the Minister. An enmity that finds his reciprocal place Vendôme as the former assize lawyer maintains tense relations with the judges.
No question of leaving an inch of land to the Minister. The union will thus be one of the engines of the “general mobilization against a discount justice” organized Tuesday, November 22, on the occasion of the first anniversary of the 3,000 magistrates’ grandstand and a hundred clerks, text published in The columns of the world, which castigated “justice at a discount which timed everything”.
To believe the text signed by the most important organizations of lawyers and magistrates, in twelve months, nothing has changed, or so little: “The mobilization will have enabled the speech of professionals on their conditions of Deplorable work, but also a global awareness of the state of justice in France forcing the executive to react (…) The announcements and the couples succeed, and our Minister of Justice is now trying to instill The idea that he finally “gave justice the means to work”. “A reference to the third consecutive budget increase, obtained by Mr. Dupond-Moretti, including, in particular, the recruitment of 1,500 magistrates and 1,500 Clerks on the five -year term or the revaluation of 1,000 euros gross for judicial judges. “Insufficient measures” according to the call to demonstrate on Tuesday. “The reality on the ground is always overloaded audiences that too often end in the middle of the night, deadlines beyond reason, unarinded judgments, decisions executed for several months – even years – after. dilapidated courts and software from the 1990s. “
