The Ministry of Industry and Trade has started the security analysis of Russian mobile operating systems, Kommersant reports. The agency sent a number of companies a letter asking him to evaluate the protection of domestic and accessible to localize foreign mobile OS. The ministry explained the request by the order of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
According to sources of the publication, the Ministry of Industry and Trade asked 13 companies to evaluate the safety of domestic and “accessible to the localization of foreign mobile OS in the Russian Federation, which can be used as part of the creation of the Russian.” Similar letters have already received such companies as Kaspersky Laboratory, Aquarius and Open Mobile Platform (creators of the Aurora).
One of the top managers who received a letter noted that the ministry wants to find out what OS in Russia exist, which of them are quite developed and showed success in the case, as well as evaluate the possibilities of localizing the development and development of foreign decisions.
Now the development of domestic mobile OS is engaged in several companies. In the OMP (belongs to Rostelecom), by 2030, the line of smartphones and tablets on the Aurora OS with a total budget of almost 500 billion rubles is hoped in the Russian Federation. and state support.
The Kaspersky Laboratory is also working on its mobile platform. She already has Kaspersky OS, but it is more simply firmware for various devices, including the Internet gadgets of things and thin customers.
