In 2022 in Russia, intensity of cyberataks increased

The landscape of cybehrosis after February 24 in Russia practically did not undergo changes. The changes mainly affected the increase in the intensity of attacks and the latitude of their coverage. The representative of the National Coordinating Center for Computer Incidents (NKTSKi) Sergey Korelov told about this at the Forum on Information Security.

At the same time, some new trends were added in 2022. In particular, I had to encounter massive attacks on servers, disconnecting providers from large trunk channels, embedding malicious software, termination of the functioning of a number of protection of a foreign manufacturer, the appearance of malicious code in software updates.

Korelov also noted that a feature of traditional DDOS attacks was a large increase in the number of real participants. In their organization and conduct, ordinary users from around the world were involved.
