The operation, which concerns several dozen establishments, coincides with the presentation of a group recovery plan.
Several dozen accommodation establishments for dependent elderly people (EHPAD) of the Orpea group are the subject of searches, Tuesday, November 15, as part of an open investigation for “institutional mistreatment”, confirmed the prosecution de Nanterre (Hauts-de-Seine).
These searches, announced at first by Mediapart , coincide with the presentation of a plan aimed at cleaning up the group’s practices and finances, despite the scandals.
In the Les Fossoyeurs survey book, the group is accused of mistreatment towards residents, accounting fraud and questionable practices in terms of human resources.
Justice opened in April a preliminary investigation for institutional mistreatment and financial offenses, following a report by the government.
At the end of September, the Orpea announced that he wanted to “better take care of residents, collaborators and caregivers thanks to an ambitious recruitment and continuing education program”. He plans to recruit 550 people per month by the end of the year, including half of nursing assistants. It aims to increase to 800 monthly recruitments in 2023.
