Lockbit extended deadline for redemption of Continental

After Continental refusal to pay LockBit, the hackers extended the deadline for payment of $ 50 million from 4 to 10, threatening to sell 40 TB of stolen data for the same amount.

Continental ignored the initial deadline on November 4. The chairman of the company Wolfgang Wrightsla and other key persons who make decisions decided not to give in to the requirements of the extortion gang after hacking in August.

Initially, Continental claimed that Cyberataka was prevented, saying that she retained full control over her IT systems. However, last week in social networks there were assumptions that Lockbit really managed to steal a large amount of data, and now the group threatens to publish it if Continental does not pay a ransom.

Lockbit recently wrote on her website that she was going to sell confidential Continental information. “Wolfgang Raitzle is a very greedy person, so we are ready to sell 40 TB of the company’s confidential information in some hands for only $ 50 million,” wrote Cybercriminals.

earlier, Lockbit’s group on its website announced a hacking of Continental – a German manufacturer of tires, automobile electronics and other components. According to the company, IB specialists quickly discovered harmful activity and managed to stop it. On business operations, the attack did not affect in any way, just like on the IT systems.
