ALMALINUX distribution is based on Cloudlinux in response to prematurely folding support for CentoS 8 Red Hat (the release of updates for Centos 8 was terminated at the end of 2021, and not in 2029, as users expected). The project is supervised by a separate non -profit organization Almalinux OS Foundation, which was created to develop a neutral platform with the participation of a community and using a management model similar to the organization of the work of the Fedora project. Distribution is free for all categories of users. All achievements Almalinux are published under free licenses.
