The demonstration is part of a day of national and inter -professional mobilization at the call of the only CGT.
Almost no metro will run Thursday in Paris, due to a strike at the call of all the unions of the RATP which promises to be very followed. RATP invites everyone who can stay at home in telework.
- Only the entirely automated lines 1 and 14 will normally drive but with a “risk of saturation”.
- Five lines will be fully closed (2, 8, 10, 11 and 12), the others rolling only at peak times, with highly degraded service.
- The situation will not be better on the RER A where one in three train will run on average.
- On the RER B, the frequency will be one in two.
At the SNCF, on the other hand, the movement supported by the only CGT-Cheminots promises to be much less followed.
- The traffic will be normal on the TGV and slightly disturbed on the intercities, on the eve of an extended weekend.
- On TER lines, nine out of ten trains will run on average
- In Ile-de-France, some disturbances are to be expected on certain lines of the Transilien.
increase in wages, improvement of working conditions and pension reform
All of the unions (CGT, FO, UNSA, Solidaires) of the RATP have long called for mobilization to request salary increases and an improvement in working conditions. RATP, like other companies in the transport sector, also suffers from a chronic sub-employment due to recruitment difficulties. It undergoes an explosion of absenteeism, especially on its bus network.
Another reason for mobilization: the future pension reform with a possible postponement of the legal departure age and the end of special diets. Human resources will be “the first subject on the table” after taking office, insisted Jean Castex during his hearing Tuesday, November 8 in front of the Senate. He promised the opening of negotiations on wages “As of December 2022, that is to say tomorrow”.
This event is part of a recently decided national and interprofessional mobilization day at the call of the CGT alone. FO, who had teamed up with the mobilization day of October 18, at the height of the movement in the refineries, this time chose not to associate with the CGT, as well as FSU and Solidaires. There had then been 107,000 demonstrators according to the police, and 300,000 according to the union.
The secretary general of the CGT, Philippe Martinez, will not be in Paris, having chosen to parade in Nîmes where he is on the move in the context of professional elections in the public service.
