Unsurprisingly, the National Assembly largely rejected the censorship motion on Monday, October 31 against a “deaf government to calls for change acted by the legislative elections”, carried by the National Rally (RN). The motion collected 90 votes, far from the 289 necessary.
Another motion of censorship, carried by France Insoumise (LFI), which denounces “a simulacrum of parliamentary democracy”, must still be voted. The deputies of the National Rally have announced that they would vote in his favor, as a week ago, the RN deputy RN of North Sébastien Chenu announced on Monday afternoon.
The rejection of censorship motions leads to the adoption of the entire Social Security financing bill (PLFSS) at first reading, which will then be examined on Wednesday in committee in the Senate.
Response to 49.3
RN and LFI had deposited these motions to reply to the trigger on Wednesday evening by Elisabeth Borne of article 49.3 of the Constitution, which aims to have the entire law of social security bill, which aims to adopt. Oppositions criticize the executive for triggering this constitutional tool to interrupt exchanges before approaching sensitive subjects – medical deserts, financing of communities -, and above all not to retain amendments adopted against his opinion.

Last Monday, three censorship motions had already been rejected. One of them, carried by the whole NUPS, had also been voted by the RN group, but it lacked fifty votes to reach the absolute majority. This rallying of the extreme right caused discomfort in the ranks of the cloud and an avalanche of attacks on the part of the presidential camp, contemporary of a “collusion”.
The LFI group had this time chose to go to the rider alone for the filing of his motion, its socialist, communist and environmental allies asserting a different strategic approach so as not to “trivialize” these attempts to reversing the government.
