Video medical deserts are at the heart of health consultation launched in October by the government. Why the situation gets worse?
Is France becoming a medical desert? The figures speak for themselves. At the national level, there are only 318 doctors per 100,000 inhabitants (against 328 ten years ago). And in terms of their distribution, it is not better: in an attractive territory like the south-east of France, the number of doctors per capita is 1.6 times higher than in the Center region.
Although measures have already been taken to straighten the bar by forming more general practitioners and specialists, the effect is not immediate. The medical density will continue to drop until 2028. How did we get there? What are the tracks envisaged to remedy it?
