“Two attackers circulating in a vehicle approached the locality of Shavei Shomron and opened fire on Israeli soldiers” who led “operations” in this sector, said the Israeli army in a brief message , specifying that a 21-year-old soldier had died of his injuries.

Shavei Shomron is an Israeli colony of just over 1,000 inhabitants founded in the late 1970s and located near Naplouse, a big city in the north of the West Bank, theater of clashes and Israeli operations these last months.

In the wake of deadly anti-Israeli attacks in March and April, the army has multiplied operations and arrests in the West Bank, a Palestinian territory occupied by the Hebrew State since 1967, especially in the Jénine sectors and from Nablus.
