The head of the Ministry of Council of the Russian Federation, Maksut Shadaev, has proposed that state-owned companies undergo a mandatory and complete transition to Russian software by 2025. Shadaev spoke during the annual assembly of the Association of Developers of Software products (ARPP) “Domestic Soft.”
Shadaev acknowledged the existence of already stringent directives urging state-owned companies to adopt domestic software and hardware solutions, with 70% accounted for by programs made by Russian manufacturers. Despite this, Shadaev urged the establishment of additional indicators that call for a full transition to local software in the areas of common-system solutions with high maturity and where there is competition.
Shadaev stated that “for mature products, we can set a very understandable indicator that should be 100% by 2025. It seems to us that there is already willingness here, and the products are generally good, competitive positions in many areas are present.”
