Prince Harry accuses Royal Family of concealing phone wiretap info

Prince Harry has accused the royal family of concealing information from him about the interception of his phone calls to avoid scandal, during preliminary hearings in the high court of London. He learned about this only after filing lawsuits with the help of other lawyers, according to his statement.

The prince believes that the royal family had a “secret agreement” with News Group Newspapers (NGN) Rupert Murdok, including The Sun tabloid, and that the family agreed not to sue the publications. The Guardian reported that this agreement was made to avoid the opening of a Pandora’s box of scandals that could damage the reputation of the royal family.

Together with other celebrities such as Elton John, Liz Herley, and Sadie Frost, Prince Harry filed a lawsuit against the Associated Newspapers media holding, which includes the Daily Mail tabloid. The lawsuit accuses the publisher of violating confidentiality by intercepting the prince’s voicemails, listening to his stationary phones, and obtaining information about his credit card use.

The publisher has denied all allegations made against them.
