Available now is the latest release of Tux Paint 0.9.30, a graphic editor specifically designed for children aged 3 to 12 years old. Binary assemblies have been formed for various platforms such as Linux (RPM, Flatpak), Haiku, Android, MacOS and Windows.
The new release boasts of several updates which include improved “Magic” tools, effects and filters. Multiple tools and filters have been adjusted to make use of size support. Filtering options such as blurring, darkening, and smearing, now come with a size tuning feature, as well as effects like flowers and eye attachments.
In addition, filters and tools that heavily rely on brush manipulation, like metal paint, kaleidoscope, tinting and bleaching, now have the option of changing the radius of the action of the hand. Foam, TV, String V and String Corner were also improved upon in this new release.
Usability has also been upgraded as the program significantly improves the readability of text marks on buttons when transferred to another line, ruptures inside words are omitted where possible.
Lastly, the Haiku operating system has been included and is now compatible to work with the program’s graphic interface for configuring Tux Paint.
