Cybersecurity experts have recently reported an issue in the platform MSHTML. The platform is responsible for interpreting and displaying HTML code, including markings, styles, scripts, and other web page elements. It also supports several versions of the HTML standard and other web technologies such as CSS and JavaScript.
Although many browsers, including Internet Explorer and the old version of Microsoft Edge, use MSHTML as their display engine, the platform has lost its significance with the transition of Microsoft Edge to Chromium. Modern versions of the Windows operating system no longer rely on MSHTML as their primary component for displaying web pages. However, MSHTML remains in use in Microsoft Outlook and other Windows programs.
