Z-Library changes domains after FBI captures, but survives

The FBI has made a major breakthrough in its crackdown on electronic book piracy, as it has captured new domains of Z-Library. This shadow library was considered the world’s largest for electronic books. New domain names seized include “b-ok.lat”, “booksc.me”, “b-ok.as”, and “Singlelogin.me”. The last one used to be the main URL for entering the system and registration of new accounts.

“Unfortunately, one of our main domains for the entrance was captured today. Therefore, we recommend using the ‘Singlelogin.re’ domain to enter our account, as well as for registration,” the Z-Library officials stated.

The main entrance panel of the Z-Library system has been removed. But it remains accessible on the network, providing an anonymous network connection protected from listening. It is an anonymous network that uses encryption to transmit data. The system primarily uses programming languages C, C++, and Python.

The news was first reported by TorrentFreak. Z-Library has long been a subject of concern for the authorities due to its massive collection of e-books, which can be downloaded for free. The recent crackdown on Z-Library is part of the US government’s larger efforts to curb online piracy.
