The Russian Ministry of Digital Development has announced the creation of a single electronic register of military registration, which is set to appear by the end of 2023. However, full functioning of the Ministry of Defense system is not expected until 2025.
The Ministry has published a draft government decree detailing the creation of the register, with work set to commence on July 1st. The Ministry of Construction will oversee the initial stage, working on the creation, commissioning, and testing of methodological, organizational and technological conditions for its maintenance and operation.
The second stage is set to run from January 1st to December 31st 2024, running the necessary preparatory activities for the system’s full operation, including the provision of methodological support for the military registration and enlistment offices.
Finally, the Ministry of Defense will commence the register’s full operation on January 1st, 2025. The registry will contain over 20 types of data, including personal information, identification documents, SNILS, TIN, place of residence, marital status, foreign citizenship or residence permit, information about military registration, deferred excursions, place of work, education, and health status.
All data will be provided by the military registration and enlistment office and other state information systems, in accordance with the Decree of the President. The introduction of the electronic register is expected to streamline the enlistment process and increase efficiency throughout the Ministry of Defense system.
