The new version of the joint development platform forgejo 1.20 has been published. Forgejo is a lightweight alternative to GitHub that can be installed on its own server. The project, which started in October of the 22nd year as a result of the Gitea Fork, regularly incorporates all Gitea code changes and develops its own new opportunities. Currently, hosting for Forgejo is provided by codeberg.org. The project code is written in Go and is licensed under MIT.
The most important changes in this new version include:
- Actions: The built-in continuous integration system (CI) has been translated from the experimental status to Alpha status. It is already being used in Forgejo itself to verify Pull Requests and prepare releases. For CI, user documentation and Administrator’s management for deploying your own runner have been prepared.
- User profile: The user’s home page can now be customized using a Markdown file.
- New editor: The editor used to create ISSUES and edit comments now utilizes github markdown.
- User blocking: Owners of repositories (user or organization) can now block users they do not want to communicate with.
- Attached tasks (Pinned Issues): Users can now select tasks, tickets, or requests for fusion to be shown at the top of the list.
- Repositories: Repositories for packets such as swift, Debian, rpm, alpine, go, and
/Reports, release notes, official announcements.
