The MHC Hacquer team emerged victorious in the flag capture (CTF) competition organized by Ruvds and Positive Technologies. What made this quest unique was the presence of a satellite server orbiting the Earth, transmitting encrypted signals. The MHC team successfully completed all the tasks within a single day, earning themselves a prize of 0.1 bitcoin. Over a thousand participants, including schoolchildren and students, took part in this groundbreaking event.
This month, the RUVDS satellite was launched as part of the Space-Ph Foundation Program, which aims to support educational goals. The quest consisted of seven stages, each associated with different aspects of information security. The tasks were inspired by the experiences gained from Standoff – Positive Technologies.
“CTF serves as an excellent platform for beginners to gain hands-on experience in the field of information security,” stated Yaroslav Babin, the director of Standoff 365. “We hope that many of the participants will pursue professional careers as researchers, reversers, and pentesters, and we extend an invitation to them to join us at the upcoming Standoff event in November.”
