Intel’s CEO, Pat Gelsinger, revealed the company’s plan to incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) into all of their manufactured products during the second quarter income report for 2023. Gelsinger expressed the significance of AI technology and highlighted the company’s strategy to introduce it into every product they produce. This move signifies Intel’s commitment to advancing artificial intelligence across various industries.
One of Intel’s upcoming releases for this year is Meteor Lake, which will be the first consumer chip to feature a built-in neural processor specifically designed for machine learning tasks. The introduction of an AI processor in this consumer chip demonstrates Intel’s dedication to making AI technology accessible to a wider range of users. Initially, Intel had indicated that AI processors would only be available in their high-end Ultra chips. However, Gelsinger now assures that AI capabilities will be integrated into all Intel products.
Contrary to popular belief, Intel believes that AI and cloud technologies do not necessarily have to be interconnected. Gelsinger argues that AI integration should occur at the client level, encompassing various consumer and corporate settings. This approach broadens the potential applications of AI beyond the cloud and opens up new possibilities for innovation and use cases.
Furthermore, Gelsinger emphasized that AI will have a significant presence in every aspect of life, stating that it “will be in every hearing aid” in the future. The incorporation of AI technology will extend beyond client devices and make its way into retail, production, industrial use, and data centers. This comprehensive approach ensures that AI will become more pervasive and impactful across multiple sectors.
