IT Musicians Pay Tribute to Mayakovsky with Album

The IT Musicians Pay Tribute to Vladimir Mayakovsky in Special Album

The musicians from Russian IT companies gathered together to honor the memory of Vladimir Mayakovsky, the poet and futurist, by releasing a special tribute album titled “Farewell concert”. This collection features seven compositions created by participants of the Mayakfest musical event, a festival focused on music groups from the IT sphere held as part of the Positive Hack Days international cyber festival.

A variety of music groups, including Dotla, Grade Zero, Human Laces, of Titans and Men, The Serious Men, Red Nettle Hills, and “From this planet”, contributed to the creation of the album. These collectives represent ten leading Russian companies in the field of information technology.

The Mayakfest, which took place on May 20 in Gorky Park, garnered the attention of IT specialists and professionals in the field of information security. During the festival, participants performed compositions inspired by Mayakovsky’s poems. Starting from July 19, the poet’s birthday, all these tracks are available at various digital music platforms such as Yandex Music, VK Music, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Spotify.

“Mayakovsky is a key figure connecting the digital world and the world of art. He, as a real futurist, was open to the future, was interested in new technologies and was not afraid of their use,” shared Victoria Alekseeva, general producer of the Positive Hack Days.

The organizers of the project hope that the release of this tribute album will draw attention to the legacy of the great poet of the 20th century and demonstrate that his work remains relevant and inspiring even after a hundred years.
